The familiar and The unfamiliar

Today at work I had one of my managers tell me I was very eccentric. Now considering I've only been at this new job for two weeks makes me smile. A correct definition of eccentric is, a person who has an unusual, peculiar, or odd personality, set of beliefs, or behavior pattern.

Hm.... not sure if many people would want to own up to that, but I absolutly love it! I like being different and odd. It's true my behavior pattern changes constantly, which some of the time I get even irritated with myself, but most of the time it keeps my life from being boring.

This isnt the first time this has been brought to my attention. Ive been getting shit about this my whole life and I used to blame it on being an aquarius, but now my head is spinning in thought. Do you think people turn into things when they are constantly told thats what they are. For example, if a child is told its dumb through their life do you think they will end up acting dumb? Or if a child is told at a young age and through life that they are odd, do you think they will act more like that?

I recently had a discussion with my roommate they other night about how her friend was talking about how cute my little brothers are. She mentioned to him that she thinks the youngest one might turn out to be gay. He argued saying if you guys act like he is and tell him he is then when he gets older he will be. Now considering this was someone talking about my brother I got pretty pissed about it....not about the gay part, but my over-protectiveness kicked in and I didn't like how angry I became.

People are telling me Im different and odd, but there are so many things I hear from people that make me shake my head and think, what the hell are they talking about? My brother will not become gay because certain people think he will, but my question of the day is....am I eccentric because ive been told I am my entire life? I dont know...but it just seems so familiar to me.
